Re: NFCU Cash Rewards cellphone insurance to end

I think that is going away with a lot of cards, unfortunately. When I signed up for my MCP just a few months ago it had it, now it does not appear on any of the literature I can find. I work in that industry and see how people treat their phones on a daily basis! My guess is that these companies are realizing that this is a service that is more trouble than what it's worth.

Kinda lame, but at the same time, I don't use it because I'd rather get $10 off/line using autopay with my debit card on Verizon.

Thanks for the info.  Are there any cards left that do cover cell phone insurance?

If i hadnt burned chase for over 20k in my bk7 that would be an option but i'm probably banned for life. thanks for posting that maybe someone will go that route if they are clean with chase.

Re: NFCU Cash Rewards cellphone insurance to end

@SUPERSQUID, Chase has a pretty long memory if you burned them. According to the DP's I have read.

Re: NFCU Cash Rewards cellphone insurance to end

At this stage, I would be cautious about getting a new card just because it has cellphone insurance (just got burned myself with Max Cash) as the situation seems pretty volatile.   It may have become too expensive for some insurers so premiums paid by the network/issuers became too high for a free benefit.
