So i tried to combine my cards through secure message, this is what i got told:
Thank you for using Navy Federal's eMessaging Service, Miss devilnic. We do not offer the option of combining balances on Navy Federal Credit Cards. You may, however, at anytime request for open, available credit to be moved between existing Navy Federal cards. As an example, you may request the $1,000.00 of open, available credit from your More Rewards American Express account be moved to your Visa Signature Flagship Rewards account. If you wish to make that change, please feel free to advise us in a response to this message. If we may be of further assistance, please let us know; we always consider it a privilege to assist you.
What the heck? Should I call and ask t close the one down that I wanted to combine? I thought they did this?
Seems like they misunderstood your question. "We do not offer the option of combining balances on Navy Federal Credit Cards." sounds like they thought you were asking to move the balance from one card to another rather than the limit. I would try calling or sending another message and specifically stating that you would like to close your [card name A] and move the credit limit from it to your [card name B].
It's not advertised, but it's done. Are both carrying balances? I'd call and speak with rep.
You have to choose credit line increase/decrease as your reason for the message. State clearly that you would like to move available credit from one card to the other and close the one it is being moved from

^ Yep, exactly this.

@Anonymous @Anonymous quick question on this. If you got your second card and also received a cli on the first card, are you still eligible for this. Or do you have to wait for the card that you want to move the limit to, to be eligible for a cli. TIA.
@BmoreBull @It's not like Discover, you can do it anytime. BUT the card you move it to will not be eligible for a CLI for 6 months after that. It's considered a CLI moving the limit.

Yeah and adding to this, if you just do a partial reallocation instead of closing and moving the limit, neither card is eligible for a CLI for 6 months.
The system thought you were trying to move balances between cards not credit limits. Call in, a person will understand what you want to do.
