Since I dont want to start a new thread In 6 months can I ask for an APR reduction instead of a CLI?
I spoke with a phone rep in the loan applications department at NFCU and she stated to try for an APR reduction after 12 months. I'm sure you can call in and ask after 6 months but I wouldn't do it too often. If you wait 12 months and let your scores improve dramatically, you'll have a better chance of lowering your score to PRIME or PRIME PLUS for your specific card.
Thanks, I can wait as I tend to not carry a balance. I'll ask for CLI to 30k after refi and then try for APR
With the APR you have why even request a CLI. I guess I'm the type to wonder what is the need for more when you already have enough... if I needed that much in credit on one specific card then something would not be right as I should never have to put that much on a credit card. Yes I understand it would help bring down your utilization and raise your available credit, but I doubt this is your only card. It may even raise a red flag as to why you need more. Unless of course you're quite wealthy and could pay off the balance in a matter of days; in that case disregard this post.
Instead I would focus my attention on the APR if I carried a balance or the rewards benefits if I PIF each month. But since you said you tend to not carry a balance then the APR means nothing as it wouldn't factor in to your payments.
Makes sense, although for business expenses I would think a corporate AmEx or Plum AmEx would suit that job more. Especially with a NPSL.

The waiting **bleep**
I **Bleeping** know. I did some checking online at NFCU mall and JoS A Bank has a 25% off sale with 3 points/1 dollar spent. I need a new leather jacket as mine was stolen last winter. Cant get the points though without the card
Is the NFCU membership based on just immediate relationship with someone who serves, or immediate member of the CU? Meaning, Duncan, you got in via the roommate rule, if you now move somewhere else with a non-member, non-military person, can they now utilize your NFCU roommate priveledges?
You could be like the Johnny Appleseed of NFCU memberships
