Navy Fed Holiday Spend Promotion

I got an email for a 'Holiday Spend' promotion; my message was tailored for MasterCard but it's possible they are offering the same deal on their Visa and American Express cards.

*Offer is valid only for existing Mastercard credit card holders. To be eligible for the 0% purchase APR, new purchases must be made between November 13, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Only single new purchase transactions that meet the minimum spend requirement of $250 will be eligible for the 0% APR. Multiple purchase transactions cannot be combined to reach the minimum. However, multiple individual purchases within one transaction, which when combined, either meet or exceed the spending minimum, qualify in either offer tier. Purchase transactions of $250 to $499.99 will revert to your standard purchase APR on June 30, 2018. Purchase transactions of $500 or more will revert to your standard purchase APR on December 31, 2018. Purchase transactions do not include the following: cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, or fees of any kind, including finance charges, late fees, returned check fees, ATM cash advance fees, and annual fees, if any. All new purchase transactions that do not meet the requirements for this offer will accrue interest at your standard purchase APR. This offer excludes Navy Federal Business cards and Home Equity Line Platinum credit cards. Offer ends December 31, 2017.

I could not determine if the link in my email was targeted for me specifically so I'm not posting it, but anybody interested might want to check his/her email or reach out to NFCU directly via SM or phone.

Edited to add:  Per @pizza1's call to a NFCU CSR this appears to be targeted, but it still couldn't hurt to call just to make sure you didn't miss the email.  Smiley Wink

Re: Navy Fed Holiday Spend Promotion

Other than trying to get me to apply for new products (cards, loans, student loans, market accounts, etc.), I don't get any of the fun offers like balance transfers, promotional APRs, or even free Costco membership. Smiley Sad

Hopefully this will be more widespread. I could certainly throw some spend on my Flagship card and leave it there at 0% if it meant I could pay a few thousands bucks extra in January on an existing balance with another lender instead.

I hear ya... I'm actually surprised I got this one.  I've used my Platinum MC for BTs a few times but usually the only offer they send my way is the 2.99%/12 month promo - hopefully this means I'm at least 'somewhat' back on their promo radar.

As good as this deal is I won't be using it since my card has no rewards.  On the other hand, if this was on a Cash Rewards card that might be worth me considering.  I should probably consider doing a PC at some point; my poor Platinum MasterCard is destined for permanent BT duty (a.k.a 'the sockdrawer') otherwise.  That's just me, though... I'm sure there are plenty of people who will find this offer useful.

Now I'm wishing I had gone after the MC and not the Visa! I could so finance my next set of tires....

I don't either.

For what it's worth, it looks like anybody with a Navy Visa Debit or Credit card can do the Costco promotion. Googling Navy Federal Costco  membership takes you right to it.

Re: Navy Fed Holiday Spend Promotion

I too, got this offer on my NFCU card yesterday.  It is not MC specific.  Both of my NFCU cards are Visa's.  It does appear to be a targeted offer since for my offer it says 'use your Navy Federal Visa credit card (ending in XXXX) to make big-ticket holiday purchases of 500 or more.."

Interesting. All I'm getting is emails about their $30K giveaway promotion.

Heh. I'd rather get that email. At least I'd get something out if it instead of a random chance at money!
