Hey guys,
new to posting on the forums but am interested in knowing if people actually have more than 3 Navy Federal credit cards. I currently have the Go rewards, cash rewards and the More rewards Amex. Currently in the rebuild process and wanted to know if it was just better to ask for CLI's every 91 days or apply for a 4th card. Current limits are 4300, 9600, and 1000.

IIRC you're limited to three (3) NFCU Credit Card products.
Do you have any experience with Navy Federal and have any strategies for CLI's?

Yes, I do, but I would rather teach you to fish instead of giving you a fish: Navy Federal UPDATED CLI and 2ND ACCOUNT THREAD
Get comfy
I believe they cap you at three credit card products.
Sorry m8, only 3. A 4th is a unicorn.
Since CLIs are soft pull currently, I ask every 91 days after a denial or 181 days after an approval.
Amex cli rules do not apply to Navy Fed. 3 cards max , 1 cli if granted every 6 months per card. If you get a cli the common waiting period for another is 6 months. If you try before you will get "There's been a recent change to account" denial reason ( if the reason isnt at max limits or not meeting Navy lending criteria)
Just grow your current stack of cards. You can combine the limits and close cards if you really want to open another card.
Put those CLI dates on a calender, or better yet, a spreadsheet so you know exactly when to ask again. That works like a charm.
If you have access to Excel, you just need two columns, one with your last CLI date in the following date format - example "01/01/20". Assume that cell is H7. In the next cell over use this formula = "=H7+181" and it will return "6/30,20" which is exactly 181 days after your last CLI. This can be used with Amex etc. just change "181" to whatever any issuer requires. You can use this formula to track 5/24 status as well, just use "729" as the amount of days from open date which covers one leap year if applicable.
The other deal is that it seems from experience here and through recent DP's that there may be a CLI limit of $4k.
