Thanks for the DP's.

Yep, figured that's what was happening. Thanks for the update.
It's not completely shocking, every time they would grant it they would say that "this isn't policy but we made an exception for good customer service as a one time courtesy" it's not a surprise to me they shut it down
I had no reply to my request... no letter, no "no", no change to limits. My reallocation request seems to have just gone into the void. Too bad as a bigger line on my Flagship would be much more usable.

@rostrow416 wrote:Hi all. On Monday, I put in a request to move my cashRewards limit over to my More Rewards card and close out the cashRewards card. They told me it should take a few business days. Called in today and found out that my request was denied. "They are cracking down on this practice, and it is no longer an option" is what the rep told me after contacting her supervisor.
Anyone else encounter this recently? Its not a big deal, I was just trying to do some "spring cleaning" and get rid of cards that were redundant in my lineup.
I was hoping to do the same. I've heard that the card you are closing has to be at least a year old. I'm not sure if this is your case?

Okay, for those of us newbies, me included, what is a "Credit Line Allocation"?

My *guess* is moving part of a credit limit from one card to another (obviously, at the same bank).

Ditto, what is a credit line allocation?

I have seen this reported before -- citing, "CSR said" -- and subsequently refuted. I have done reallocation.
What is your definitive source?
