Navy Federal Credit Union...wow

Ok, so here it goes...

...long time reader, first time poster.

I joined forum about four months ago, with all of my scores in low 600s.  I started reading a lot of great info here, and it has really helped.  I was able to raise my score to mid 600s by paying off some credit card debt.  As soon as I did this, I opened account with Navy Federal (learned about them here - yes, am active duty military).  After opening account, applied for credit card, and was approved for Visa Signature Cash Rewards with 5K limit.  This blew me away!  Within two weeks, was approved for Chase Freedom (4.5K) and Chase MIlitary Star (2K Chase / 8.5K Star).  I thought, ok, lets sit on it.  Kept cards paid off since accounts opened in April (Military Star opened in 2002, but Chase added in April 2013).  This evening, felt froggy, so thought lets see if I can get overdraft line of credit with NFCU...approved for 7.5K.  Thought 'wow', that was simple.  Let's see if NFCU loves me on my Signature card...requested increase to 7.5K...approved instantly...10K...approved instantly....15K....approved instantly...20K...approved instantly...25K...counter offer for 22K, which I accepted.  I love this credit union.  They rock!

Current scores:  Experian 680; Transunion 720; Equifax 705

Chase Military Star MC: $2000MC / $8700Star; Capital One: $750; Navy Fed Signature Visa: $22500; Navy Fed Overdraft: $7500; Chase Freedom: $4500

Score (April 13): TU693 FICO, EQ698 FICO, EX unk.
June 2013: TU717, EQ700, EX678
Goal: 750+

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Navy Federal Credit Union...wow

I have a NFCU account and love them - at this point I was denied a card due to my credit history.  I'm hoping in a couple of years after rebuilding after some big hiccups I will be able to also get some of their CC love.

Congrats on your increases! Keep it up! =)
