Hey guys,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not, but I got turned down for a debt consolidation loan with NFCU for just under $2800. And since I already took the HP, I want to know if anyone has the recon number so I can give that a shot. And if that too doesn't go as planned, I was going to ask for a cashRewards CC, since like I said I already took the HP.

Use secure messaging when you login...other than that there is no special number to call other than their 800 number.
Good luck on your recon.
I was turned down initially for a CC through them. I reconned through Secure Message and they approved me. It was for a low limit, but I got my foot in the door; which is huge. Just be totally honest about your situation and progress so far, as well as your reasoning behind applying. Stay positive and have an attitude of gratitude and I think you'll have a really good chance of reconsideration. Good luck and hang in there!
Navy is really a good bank to be with and are typically pretty understanding. Send them a secure message and they will hopefully work with you. Best of luck!
I'd call them. Their customer service is amazing. I'd ask for both...the card and the loan....
Good luck, there are many success stories about NFCU, including my own
DH applied for a CC and recieved the 3-5 day message - he sent an email immedietly, and when we woke up he was approved fro $2K. HTH.
Thanks everyone, I just sent the secured message and I'm hoping that it comes out in my favor. I tried to ask for a reconsideration in a kind and humble manner without sounding too desperate and give them the impression that I couldn't afford the loan or my bills and ruin my chances. Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted and let it know how it goes.
And thanks BungalowMo, I'll try to apply for the CC after I hear what they're gonna do with my loan. Last thing I want to do is aks them for a recon and then try to sneak in another CC while they're deciding on my recon. Or do you guys think it's better to just apply now? I'd love to hear what you guys think, so let me know! ![]()

Only apply for the CC if it fits your spending habits. Whether you apply now or later, it will be a separate inquiry as CC and loans are handled by different depts and NFCU is pull happy.

Darn it, well there goes that plan.
Well, I'm not about to get yet another inquiry for another CC right now. If all goes as well as I'm hoping, it'll be like my CCs that I do have are new because they have no balances on them anyway, so that'll be great!
Thanks for letting me know LearningMoreAboutCredit, I was really hoping they would use the same CR since it was just pulled like 2 days ago.
I already have like 3 or 4 inquires this year and 1 of which was pulled by Chase without my consent after I told them I couldn't afford to pay them 6k+ to settle out a defaulted private student loan I have with them that I've been paying monthly for the last 2/3 years. Apparently they didn't believe me and pulled my CR anyway, all while still taking my monthly payments. Funny thing is at the time all I had was a CC with my local CU with a $1000 limit and a credit 1 card with a $500 CL. And soon after, I got a barclays, amazon store card, a NFCU CC and a NavChek account, lol
Well, thanks again LearningMoreAboutCredit as you just saved me an unecessary inquiry.
