Trying to see if anyone knew exactly what fico scoring model does NFCU use to approve credit cards. Have tried twice to get a credit card and the score range they sent me stated it was from Equifax and ranged from 334 to 818.

You're very welcome. Keep trying with them. It's worth the effort.
I been with Navy Federal since 4/2015. I applied right away for a Nrewards and was not approved. I got the secured credit card at $500 and a month later raised it to $1000. I think my fico08 scores were around TU622 EX602 and EQ597 at that time. I had a lot of inquiries on my Equifax the times I applied because that's the bureau everyone pulled when I oped up checking accounts , credit cards and Navy Federal. I have 22 inquiries on my Equifax now and I have froze it because of that. If only I would have known about myfico and these great people before I applied for anything I would be in a much better position!!
I also have checking & savings with them. Direct deposit with them. And also an easy start cd with them.
Are you paying off your balances with them every month? What is your utilization? Any negative items (non inquiries)?
you can also SM them to recon.
