Does Navy's exposure calculation include AU cards or only primary account holder cards?
Wife is looking to app for her 2nd Navy card but is an AU on my cards, which puts her at almost $70k Navy exposure, which is probably high for her profile.
Should we remove her as AU on my Navy cards before having her app?
11/25/20 Update: So DW pulled the trigger on this and was approved for a Plat $25k limit @ 5.99%. If you include AU cards that she's on, that puts her at $92,500 Navy exposure. So we found our answer! Navy appears not to include AU accounts on your exposure calculation.
Absolutely.
I don't know this to be fact, but I would guess and say that AU accounts should not have an effect on total exposure since they don't own the account and it's not their borrowed money/CL with zero responsibility for repayment. Just my 2 cents.
Best of luck!
@rbentley do you have any data to back up your response?
I'm asking because I'm not sure, other than an AU account reporting a balance and that having an impact on the decision due to DTI, etc.
Please enlighten me.

Not sure I can enlighten you. The only data point I can offer is my own experience. approximately 2 years ago I called NFCU and asked this very question in regards to an authorized user. The CSR told me that the AU account would be considered against the total credit allowed. CSR's can be wrong, policies could have changed since then. As with everything, especially on here YMMV.
@rbentley Good to know. Thanks for the details.
Thanks for your help everyone!
Yes, very useful data points on that. Thanks for sharing the results.
