Just trying to find out what some of them are so if a did app for something else, I wouldn't be given a limit lower than $5k if approved.
I can't say for any others but I believe Chase is - CSP, Hyatt, & Ritz Carlton.
Your credit line is determined by your credit profile.
@Changingmantra: I do know that, but there are certain cards. that have a minimum starting CL and those are the ones I'm asking about b/c at this point IF I'm going to app for anything else, I'd rather have a decline rather than receive a low(er) limit. And it also wouldn't be worth the extra HP IMO to receive anything lower than $5k. That's why I'm compiling a list.
Thanks watch44. Unf. I'm not eligible for NFCU membership EVEN THOUGH I was in the AF for a short time (honorably discharged-medical reasons).
Chase Marriott and Citi AA Visa/MC seem to approve for higher than 5k most of the time as well.
Almost all cards will approve you with a $5000 if your credit file warrants it. Most will give you a credit card for a smaller amount if your credit file doesn't warrant it. Some such as the ones that require your credit be good enough to get a $5000 minimum credit card and its not will decline you. So who gives out $5000 limits?
Penfed Platinum Visa Signature specifies that there is a $5k minimum.
@coldnmn: Again, just trying to put a list together. I know all about your profile determining your limit. But IF and only if I did want to app for something else later down the road, the info would be useful to know. If I already have one MUCH HIGHER CL and have a decent profile, why would I want to app for something that could give me a $1k CL? (unless the sign-up or rewards were super-spectacualr) A waste of a HP IMO.
