Hi all. I have two Capital One cards. One of them has been stuck at a $300 limit since I opened it in 2008 or 2009. I've repeatedly asked for a CLI via the luv button online but to no avail. It started out as the platinum card, but I got it changed to the QS1 a couple of months ago. At that time, I asked the CSR about a CLI and he submitted it, but it was denied. The reason for denial that I always get is something is "A credit limit increase is currently not available upon request because Capital One is evaluating account activity at assigned credit limits." I've gotten small increases on the other card, but it's just at $1050, having started at $800 in 2008.
Anyway, I'm thinking of closing the $300 QS1 since it's stuck. I've applied for a new QS1 card but was declined because of having "too many Capital One account," because the ones I have are both lower tier, I suppose I'll probably keep the other one and change it over to a QS1 at some point (which has been approved online, just need to call in).
Any advice? Thanks!
My FICO scores are: EQ - 670, TU - 682, EXP - 697.
Have you tried emailing the EO's office? That worked for me, and that was the reason I was getting (mine isn't that old however). I got an increase from 300 - 750. Which isn't much but the card is only 4 months old. I'd give that a shot. They send it for manual review I think through the EO, but the CSR just sends the same kind of request that you can do online (if I'm extrapolating the information correctly). Good luck!
I'll try that, thanks! Is that email listed somewhere on this site?

It's listed somewhere (not sure where), but if you google "Capital One CEO Email Address" it should pop up.
Found it! I just sent off an email and will update when I hear back.
Thanks again!
Close it.

Thanks for the response, Captool. Any particular reason you would suggest to close it rather than keep trying for a CLI? Just trying to make the best decision. ![]()

I had a QS1 for over 7 years and tried multiple times to either get a CLI or a PC to QS. I finally realized it was a crap card and dumped it.
Ok. Well, I just got off the phone with the EO, and they asked me some questions and said they would submit it for a manual review. They said it will take 3-5 days, so I'll update the thread as soon as I find out. I wasn't sure what to ask for as far as credit limit, so I said $4500 (in order to match my Citi card). I did say I would accept a partial increase.
Thanks for all your input. ![]()
