Re: New to Credit and to the Forum. Need help!!!

 You really seem to know alot about this credit rebuilding thing, I have some questions that maybe you can give some good advice on.

Here's my current situation: After having all of my derogatory accounts removed and lots of inquiries (these were do to Identity theft) back in jan this year 2013, I was able to open store cards...mostly comenity bank cards 10 of them to be exact (8 with 250 CL and 2 with 200 CL) and I had one that is from another catalog that i was preapproved for back in oct 2012. I haved used all these accounts off and on and have kept them paid on time and the UTL low. Its now been over 6 months and although its helped my score out, they are still not what I expected. My TU is still at 591, EQ 585 and my EX is 669, or thats what EQ says and credit karma and credit sesame. I so much wanted to have all scores FICO at atleast 650 (I think EX is fako).  How long before these cards will help that score? Also I am thinking that It may be to much card accounts, not the right kind to build credit with. I dont have a visa or mastercard yet. I live in wisconsin so i cant get a credit one bank card or first premire card. (Ofcorse dont want those horrible fees).

 So anyway, 11 accounts all togather with average account age of 7 months. But no derogs at all. Does it take a year or two before these types of cards help with credit scores when thats all you got. Also When do you think I should apply and get approved for a high end card like AMEX. So far the few that I applied for all turned me down so I just gave up. I called the CAs and asked them to remove the inquiries from those few and to my suprise they did. I have fraud alerts on my CA reports due to the ID theft last year.

Could that also be holding me back, can I have those removed?. TU says it will be on there for 7 years, I just wish that wont hurt me for getting approval for a visa or mastercard or AMEX.  Anyway I do want to apply for a car loan next Jan 2014. I know that my income is low compared to some folks on here, as I am disabled and only get about $2400 month Soc Sec, I am working part time but thats just an extra $12000 a year. I know that so many credit cards look at your income now, just woundering is my income also to low for amex or visa/mastercard? Well, any advice would help. Really need credit improvement here. Thanks

Being an AU doesnt affect you or your score, that only lets you charge the card, being a Joint Account does affect your score and also would put you liable to pay back whatever amount if your parents pass away. I wouldnt worry too much about the AMEX since your only an AU and not a Joint.

@Skye12329

Sorry but you are incorrect. An AU can affect your CS neg and/or positively. If your cc is maxed out it will affect your CS adversely, if pyts are missed it will affect your CS adversely. Likewise, if the util is low, AAOA is high your CS would be affected positively.

@RickyRay

Inq's/accts will affect your CS. You don't need a high income for MC/Visa or Amex. Income does not affect your CS. What is your util?

Woops!! I think you guys got me confused or i messed up this forum, I posted under another persons forum, thinking it was in the right area. I am not on my parents accounts anywhere....they live in an assisted living center,  I just have my own cc and stuff. Sorry about that. I just had questions about my own credit situation, When would be the best time to apply for a visa or mastercard or amex in my credit situation, and do i have to many store cards? Can I build credit with only these store cards and in the future would they be enough credit wise to get a car loan? Anyway thanks for all the advice, it really helps out you know.

Check the yellow mail at top right corner good luck

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
