No hard pull on new AMEX's? Edit: was on Experian

EDIT: As a user suggested, I downloaded the Experian app and found the hard pull. This is a good complement to Credit Karma, didn't know it was possible to see the report for free (unfortunately not score, but I don't care, its a good indication).

I've seen the other threads on this but hear me out

I had a real AMEX several years ago. It was closed unilaterally by them. I've had a bank branded AMEX the whole time, amongst my other non-AMEX cards. My online login for American Express is no longer valid. When AMEX shut me down, they really shut me down.

Fast forward to Monday (2 days ago), I did an App Spree on multiple AMEX cards: Platinum, Delta you name it. Got a approved for them all, NPSL and no clear limit on the platinum. 5 figure limits on the other ones

So far, no hard pull!

Is it too early to know for sure?  In the app spree there were some other company's cards too and I see the hard pull on CK already. In theory AMEX could be using Experian which isn't on CK

Just want to know what you guys think

Re: No hard pull on new AMEX's?

What reason did Amex give for closing your card(s)?

Re: No hard pull on new AMEX's?

I'd bet $50 you have a HP on EX.

Get the Experian app and see for yourself.

Re: No hard pull on new AMEX's?

I agree, probably a hp on ex. Sounds like it was well worth it though.

Yes, given that ck doesn't show EX and Amex nearly always pulls that, there is no reason to think that there wasn't one.

But....   recently several reports of existing Amex holders not getting HP for a successful app (used to be no HP for rejection, HP for success), so this would be one more step in that direction!   (Preferable to the other, where Amex HPs you even if you don't apply.   OK, that's not allowed!)

Re: No hard pull on new AMEX's?

Out of curiosity what cards did you get in your app spree and what were your starting limits? I’m wondering if they’re really treating you like a newcomer after having shut you down before.

You win, yes I took this suggestion and you were right!

Thanks
