Re: No more AMEX backdating?-UPDATE

I've never personally had an AMEX.

In July 2012, I was added as an AU where the primary was a member since 2006. I received my AMEX AU card a week later and the card stated "Member Since 2012" on the front and it reported to my CRs as opened 7/1/2012. Called customer service and they backdated my AU card to 2006. A couple days later received my new AMEX AU card (overnighted!) which states "Member Since 2006."

Currently my CRs still report 7/1/2012. Am waiting for them to report the 2006 date to my CRs.

I doubt that the AU AMEX will actually report as opened in 2006.  As I said before, they seem to be giving people cards saying 2006 for AUs but it never changes it reported open date.  Please let us know when AMEX next reports if it changes.  My guess is that it won't

Re: No more AMEX backdating?-UPDATE

I called them again yesterday after I read your last message and they had me contact the credit bureau dept. Talked with the CB dept.\ and they said it would update on the next statement cycle as opened in 2006. I'll update when my CR changes!

Re: No more AMEX backdating?-UPDATE

I'm ACM on DGF's Delta Skymiles from 1994. It fell off my EQ in March, called their credit reports dept April 4th and was told they were sending EQ an email for it to be re-inserted.

Today is August 10th and nothing's happened. Smiley Happy

Re: No more AMEX backdating?-UPDATE

I got my Zync card today & when I set up my acct online it said "thank you for being a cardmember since 2002" which is the yr of one of my amex AU accts. I'm assuming it will report to the CR the same way but who knows. Weird thing is I actually had an indiv acct w/ Amex in 2000, debating whether it's worth it to try & get it changed to 2000.

Citi Thank You $13,200 - Chase Freedom $3,100 - AMEX Zync NPSL (init. ability $17.5K) - Citi Forward $7,000 - AMEX BCP $6,000 - USAA Rate Adv $15,000 - USAA World MC $12,000 - Discover More $4,000 - Amex Hilton Honors $4,500 - Amex SPG $2,000 - Barclay's Priceline Rewards $6,400 - Chase Sapphire Pref. $7,500
