I opened these two cards a day apart. App'd for R-C first, but the Hyatt showed online first and I received it first. App'd on something like 6/27 and 6/28.
When they showed online, the Hyatt showed with a payment due date of 8/14 and the Ritz showed with a payment due date of 8/26. I (wrongly) assumed that this meant that I wouldn't get a statement on the Hyatt until 8/17-ish. Nope, statement generated on 7/17. No biggie, I'm not apping for anything, I'm fine with a $500 balance reporting. THEN I (wrongly) assumed that since the Hyatt generated a July statement, so would the Ritz. I first just paid $2k and figured I'd let a few hundred report. Then I decided to PIF to zero and paid the balance before the presumed statement date of 7/29. No statement (and still no annual fee).
Which is the norm on new accounts? We opened a few accounts back in April, but I don't recall.
Also, will I see the annual fee AFTER the first statement or will it post before the first statement on the Ritz?

With my Chase Freedom, I don't get a statement issued if the balance is 0. It does still get reported though.
