Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

I think all Marriott elite members can get this offer by logging into their account and then clicking on the Marriott Rewards section. It's been there for quite awhile, at least 2 months. This might help others who may be considering the card.

CS, you mentioned about the sign-up order to qualify for bonuses on both cards previously.

In order to qualify one has to get the Ritz card first, then the Marriot card, is that right? Or was it the other way round?

That's exactly it. The Ritz needs to come first and the Marriott second, as per the T&C. If it's done the other way around, you won't get the 2nd bonus.

Marriott Card T&C:

To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make purchases totaling $1,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Purchases do not include using your account for balance transfers or cash advances, or using any checks that access your account. After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your Marriott Rewards account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time Marriott Rewards Credit Card Cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing Marriott Rewards Credit Card Cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer. If your account is not open for at least 6 months, Marriott and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus points from your Marriott Rewards account.

Ritz Card T&C:

You will receive 70,000 bonus points with this offer, which can be redeemed for a complimentary night stay at

The Ritz-Carlton. To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make purchases totaling $2,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Purchases do not include using your account for balance transfers, cash advances, or the payment of any fees on your account (including an annual fee, if applicable), or using any checks that access your account. After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing The Ritz-Carlton Rewards or Marriott Rewards® Credit Card cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer. If your account is not open for at least 6 months, The Ritz-Carlton and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus points from The Ritz-Carlton Rewards account.

This is why I always say it pays to read the T/C before applying....
