It's been a couple months since I opened up my most recent card, and I haven't had any kind of desire to app since then, even though I've now started getting preapprovals in the mail as well as online. I think this means I'm finally comfortable enough with my little card portfolio that I can join the garden.
For those of you on phones right now, here is what I have:
Cap1 Newcomers, $750 (4/2012); AMEX Green, NPSL (10/2012); Discover IT, $3500 (10/2012); Chase Amazon Rewards, $1100 (10/2012); AMEX Hilton HHonors, $4000 (11/2012); AMEX Blue Cash Everyday, $4000 (01/2013); Chase Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus, $6500 (03/2013).
The only things I forsee myself doing for the rest of the year are 1) closing my AMEX Green card in September; 2) asking for a 6 month increase on my BCE in July, and 3) possibly asking for a PC or an increase on my Cap1 card through their EO, probably sometime this summer. I just don't know if they PC the Newcomer's card or not.
I want to keep my Experian report free of inqs for the rest of the year so I can get another no annual fee AMEX in January to help age my accounts (my AAoA is 8 months right now).
It feels good to be happy with what I have so far!
