I had applied on the 16th of this month and called today to veify they had received my DL and Utl. Bill.  They said they hadn't received it (I had confirmation email that they had).  Sent it two more times and after 3 phone calls the problem was that my email is formated first.middle.last@gmail.com Its just formatting.  I typed firstmiddlelast@gmail.com on my application.  For wahtever reason this prevented them from seeing my emails.  I have gotten the issue corrected but if I could help other avoid verification problems heres my help

I had talked to three or four people that realistically seemed inconvenienced that I was having an issue at all.  I called back one final time and spoke to a gentleman that had everything fixed in about six mintues.  I sent my ID verification to his email and he forwarded it to their new accounts department.  According to him my account should be opened later today or the latest tomorrow.  I am eager to set up the DD to see how early I can get access to it!

That early DD is a nice feature. In the 8 yrs I have had the account never experienced a problem.

yea DD can be anywhere from 1 to 3 days early. it's a sweet perk.

Yeah that DD perk is what really enticed me and the free EQ was nice.

What communication method did you guys receive upon approval?  How long after can you set up online banking and what not?

You can set up your online banking as soon as you receive your membership number. It's been 8 yrs since I opened it but if memory serves me I received a welcome packet. I don't recall an email.

The DD is available the next day they receive it from your employer. So,if your employer transmits on Wednesday afternoon your funds are available the next business day - not the check date.

Somehow my application got flagged by the fraud department. However, once released, I have had no problems. They gave me my largest limit credit card and then they gave me a 1.99% car loan. I am very happy with DCU. I was aggrivated for a while because it took over 3 months to get my account created.

DCU has been crazy with their verification issues lately.  If they don't get it straightened out their rep is going to take a beating.
