Open NFCU online and CC app on same day?

What documentation do they need?
I’ve read that I can Join as my grandfather (Navy 4 years , army 32 years) and uncles (Navy 5 years) served. I have only one loving relative that serves however (Uncle ) and have no clue how to go about getting documents to prove this. I’d love to join NFCU for credit card and future mortgage.

What!? When was this?
My scores are 689-710 range TU being lowest. Utilization is around 28% I think (DIR?)
I’d love to get that SL!
Also getting a higher SL card helps utilization right? Somewhat new sorry

The uncle's service won't work but your grandfather's will. 

If they require documentation, they'll want a DD-214.  A son/daughter can obtain this but not grandchild.

In my case I opened my account by phone,  they didn't want as much as my grandfather's name,

just wanted to know which branch he served in but YMMV.  No hard pull.

The CSR was beyond nice and helpful.  Perhaps it being 2AM helped.

So far, so good.  Apped their Platinum card about 6 months later

and got the holy grail 25K@8.25%.  No branch real close to me so just savings.
