Hi All
I just received a Pre Approval for the Penfed Gold credit card. Looking for opinions on the card as I've been looking to possibly join a credit union to take advantage of good loan rates when it's time to upgrade car or make some needed home repairs. All help appreciated.
PenFed is great.
The Gold card is their lowest rate card but if your profile isn't really good they could still give you a high APR on this card and there's no rewards. If you can get the Gold card you can get a rewards card and the APR difference would probably only be 1%.
@belle6m2k Penfed has been good as my other lenders, processing payments are fast, similar features like auto payment though the app doesn't have the lock/unlock button.
I was approved for the platinum with 2,500 cl, this shows that you don't have to qualify for the 5k signature to get this card as I thought.

PenFed is a solid credit union with good rates.
I've been with PenFed for over 10 years now. I think most of their banking services are great. Really good rates as far as loans go, and customer service is superb.
But their credit cards are... just okay. I think their best one is the Power Cash Rewards once you satisfy the Honors Advantage Membership. I still recommend them as a credit union overall, however.
