Optimum Credit Mix

Hi Guys,

what's the optimum credit mix.  I currently have 6 major credit cards, 1 gas (store card).  I plan to apply for a car loan in the next few months.  My credit history is relatively short.

My credit was so screwed up, I've been buying w cash for most of my life.  I did finance a car between 1988-1992, but it no longer appears on my report.

That "perfect" mix is like the Loch Ness monster, we've heard about it, but there seems to be no definitive answer as to what it truly is.

IMO, the perfect mix includes at least one of the following:

Open
Revolving
Installment
Mortgage
