Orchard Bank Reports to The CBRs When?

I have an Orchard Bank rebuilding card, and I cannot for the life me get them to give me a straight answer as to when they report my account to the CBRs. My payment due date is the 15th of each month, and they said my account closes right around the 20th, but they won't give me a date for when they report. I've asked three times and each time I get some jerk-weed CSR from India or Bangladesh giving me the vaguest possible answers -- and they refuse to escalate me to a supervisor.

Does anyone know exactly? I'm trying to do the timing thing where I keep my balance as low as possible for the reporting, but then still be able to use it and not be penalized for a high Utl.

My DH also has an Orchard card, his due date is the 16th and new statement is generated around the 20th of the month. I've noticed that they do not report until the last day of the month.

In November I payed it down to 3% utilization the statement closed and I thought it would be okay to use the card but they did not end up reporting until the end of the month when I had racked the card back up.

Re: Orchard Bank Reports to The CBRs When?

I've closed my account with them but I used to schedule my payment at the end of the month so they would get it by the 2nd of month.  Got two or three automatic clis this way.  Look on your statement and see what the closing date is.
Hope this helps.

PayYouNever,

They should name this card the "No info here" card.

I found out the date they report to the CRA's by Checking the account details thru True Credit and Score Watch. I could never get an answer from them.

For most CC acounts the date they report to CRA's is before (4-5 days) or, on the date the statement closes. Most people use this conventional wisdom to play the utilization game. This Orchard account reports to the CRA's 5 days after the statement closes. And, since the statement closes date is on your statement all you have to do is add 5 days to it and that's when they report your balance due to the CRA's.

Hope this helps you

Ok. So I'll use the card a bit this month, but make another payment close to the 25th or so that'll have my Utl around 30% for the reporting.

LOL!!  My kid costs me enough money, I figure the least he can do is to serve as my walking reading glasses.

LOL  i thought i was going blind.
Regarding Orchard--they are no where near as bad as HSBC.  Sometimes they wil report your balance as soon as you charge it.

Re: Orchard Bank Reports to The CBRs When?

HSBC generally posts current balance on the last weekday of the month-

This was a PITA when I had them and my Statement date was the 8th-
