Re: Over $100k...

I'm around $75K (see siggy).  And that is way more than I need.  I don't want any other cards and only got the HHonors for the 40K points.  Too much credit can be a turn off for some creditors.  Just closed on a $416K house in June so I'm set except for a car in a year or two.  Til then it's garden, garden, garden!  Hopefully I can get high enough for a zero percent or really low loan.

$300k+...Geesh!!!

Congratz! DrJim...that must be a beautiful home for that price unless you're in a big city then a small condo (still nice I'm sure), LOL!

Sounds like you have everything all planned out. If you qualified for a $416k home in this market, I'm sure you'll get that 0% or very low IR on your car when you're ready.

I wonder how much over your income are CC companies willing to risk.

Re: Over $100k...

It makes me wonder how these credit cards people determine your limits.  But I guess that's why the interst rates on these things are so out of wack with other rates.

That's the question.  Smiley Happy   I'm sometimes surprised that I've been able to push my Starwood card up to $15k.  Not sure I want to risk another CLI.

I am curious to see if PenFed bumps my limit one day, but that's a long way off since the card isn't even 30 days old yet.

That's why I try to never, ever carry a balance. The interest rate is irrelavant if you pay in full or use the 0% interest promos. NFCU offers 0% at the beggining of the year, which I always take advantage of. I let all their other customers give them interest.
