PayPal mc invitation to apply pops up when I log in

If I were in your place, I would NOT apply for this card.  As stated above, the pop up appears for everybody.  You are not a good candidate for the MC.

Gramps it is just marketing plain and simple.  I get "invitations to apply" in my email at least bimonthly with the latest one being 3 days ago.

It is a marketing solicitation to apply, not a pre-approved offer OP.  I get them all the time despite of already having both PayPal and eBay MCs.
