Haven't gotten any offers yet, email or otherwise. My EQ FICO 9 doesn't get pulled until the 30th, so if anything comes up it'll probably be early April. I opened my auto loan last February and my Power Cash Rewards in July, got a CLI in early November and applied for another one this month but was turned down. I saw just this morning on CCT though that my EQ FICO 8 has jumped 10 points to 703, so I'm hoping for a similar improvement on FICO 9.

My FICO 9's are a bit sexier than my 8's. I've noticed though when one goes up, the other does as well, but like with a 10% bonus lol

That'd mean my FICO 9, if 10% extra is tacked on to my FICO 8, could go to...773 at the next update. I think that's just a little unrealistic for me. Smiley Wink An extra 10-20 points or so, on the other hand, isn't out of the question.

Re: PenFed Pre-Approvals Posted

I'm eligible to lower my auto loan by increasing my APR (2.49 to 2.99) and extending how many more monthly payments I make. Thanks? Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. I've been with them over a year and join with a dirtttttttty file.

UPDATE:

I did go thru and accept the $17,600 offer, but I opted to use it as a CLI on my current Plat Rewards (I'm trying to be mindful of new accounts). I don't need the additional limit, but this may not be an offer always available so I snatched it up.

Even though the screen looked it was going to pull credit, it DID NOT and it was a successful SP. The new limit of $47,600 showed online after about 10min, which is a bit faster than normal for them. I'm loving PenFed right now!

If I ever get any other offers (for cards) from them, I'll be capped out at $2,400, which I would just apply here and max it out at $50,000

Preapprovals, if you're eligible, will appear on the right-hand side of your main account page under "Your Offers".

If you have other debt above 2.99% that's a great thing to consider.  I did that 7 months ago going from 1.99% to 2.49% (the rate increase is because those are the lowest rates they are offering for these particular loans today, not penalizing you for extending the loan) because it made sense for us.  It was a seamless process with one caveat... if you have autopay set, it will continue to pay the original amount even when the amount of the payment or a "skip a month" feature is taken advantage of, so you'll need to change that.  As for reporting, the only thing that will change on your credit reports is the length of the loan and the payment - it's not a new tradeline.

Re: PenFed Pre-Approvals Posted

I just called Penfed and they comfirmed that it would be a soft pull. She asked if I wanted a new card or to just add another 5K to my current one. I added the 5k to my existed card so that I didn't have another card show up for my 5/24 reasons. She let me know the additional CL would be in my account within the next 24 hours.

Hope that helps others out there that have the emails as well.

Thanks
