Re: Penfed Pathfinder is back

Well, they also just added a $95 AF, which is not suprising given that the card has been offering $100 in incidentals plus GE/TSA credit.

I've had the card for almost 3 years now and only use it for the credits, TBH.

I haven't received any notification about the new AF yet.

Nevermind. Just read the *** disclosure. If you're an HA Member, they waive the annual fee.

Interesting.  Thanks for posting @Anonymous.

I wonder if they'll grandfather those of us who currently have the card without AF 🤔

Good news for some. I always felt removal was a bit of a head scratcher. Considering the base it attracted, and the other cards offering them nothing remotely comparable.

Re: Penfed Pathfinder is back

BTW, if anyone's considering this card, Priority Pass is not a real benefit. It doesn't work like the PP membership offered by other premium cards. It's a pay-per-use membership. I think it's $32 every time you want to access a lounge. Personally, I wouldn't pay $32 for any lounge, but that's just me.

Does anyone know what 50,000 points equates to in travel redemption?

I searched the trusted interwebs, but to no avail.

This where I think the card falls a bit short. I myself didn't research this well before getting it. For some stupid reason, I thought I could convert points to cash 🤦🏻‍♂️. This my own fault.

Except for hotels, redemptions are under 1:1 ratio. Gift cards about 0.85x unless they have some promos/sales. Air travel about 0.85x - 0.90x and hotels between 1.15x - 1.25x on average. It's not a bad card if you can earn points consistently at 4x, but I'm sure people can do better with other cards in the travel category.

Yeah I think I'm going to cancel this card cause now it has a AF. It's a hit and miss with the travel credit. Idk, wish I could PC it but whatever, it was good while it lasted.
