Penfed confusion?

So I applied for the penfed rewards card, and they said they will review it (membership or whatever). i just got a email saying my request was approved for a loan? any ideas how that happened? also tells me to call and talk to a rep about establishing membership.

Re: Penfed confusion?

To have any product of a credit union, such as PenFed, you need to be a member of the credit union. Most likely you put in an application for the card without establishing membership which PenFed allows. You got approved for the card but they will not issue it to you or any other type of account until you establish membership. Establishing membership only needs to be done once unless you leave.

Re: Penfed confusion?

If the part mentioning 'approved for a loan' is confusing, it's just terminology. You're approved for CC, just need to establish membership with them, which is easy.
