Hi guys. Was sent here from the rebuilding credit board.
I have a fairly new credit history, I became a permanent resident in 2010 so only 2 years of having a SS#.
I started looking to get some credit and applied for some CC's, got a First Premier with a $300 limit. Always paid on time and my score is 626. I plan on applying for a mortgage by the end of the year and need that score to go up and need another revolving account for an FHA. I'm afraid I will apply and my score will go down with another inquiry (I have about 10).
Should I apply for another card? If yes, which one?
How much more or less will my score go down?
TIA
Capital One offers a card that is specifically targeted towards new immigrants/residents:

I don't know how things will pan out being that you already have a dozen inquiries. Someone else will have to offer some insight on that issue.
i am thinking a secured card- maybe one like BofA that will graduate. Do you belong to a CU?
Whatever you do, keep your apping to a minimum ESP if you are thinking about a home loan.
wow that card for new immigrants looks awesome at glance, but I have bad judgement because I love my first premier and I read they are horrible lol...
Can anyone link me to where I can get pre-approved without hurting my score?
Thanks guys, you're all awesome
Go back to site that Leadberry gave you look under credit cards select pre qualified...Enter your info

It's not a pre-approval; it's pre qualified
ohh I'm scarreeeeeedddd guys.
I did the pre-quali and it came back to the Cap One Cash Card, it's mostly for perfect credit, I'm afraid to get denied if I try

Remember, Cap 1 will pull all 3 bureaus.
Before you app, think can your scores take that hit.
Sleep on it- they are not going anywhere.
just get a secured card and call it a day, with 10 inquiries and your score and baddies it'll be hard to get approved for anything else worth while. Wells Fargo is easy place to get one, or a local credit union. Stay away from Capital One in secured they're terrible with verifying ID and hit me with 9 inquiries in the past with no card. I mean what's there to verify? I sent them a check with notorized copy of my license and social -_-;..... they're terrible.
