Edited to ask: Does anyone know if having the Ameriprise Plat lowers your chances of getting the 100K vanilla Plat offer?
I don't think there's actually any solid DPs or evidence that can either confirm or disprove such notion.
I think you may be treading in dangerous waters with this maneuvar with AMEX, canceling and then signing up for the same card again, even though their is no bonus. They may outright close all your accounts because they would see you as unprofitable, reaping rewards and never paying an annual fee. It perpetuates it even further since they can see that you are adding each other as AU every other year. Just my two cents that you should not continue with it...
Only problem with your theory Kuso29 is that I have been a member since 1989 and put a lot of spend on my Amex cards.
