I opened a capital one secured card in 2016 and they would never unsecure it, I asked a few times. I ended up applying for another platinum card and closing the secured one so I could get my deposit back. The platinum has been converted to a quicksilver. Still a small credit limit compared to my other cards with better rewards so I’m just going to stop using the quicksilver until they close it. One thing I do like about it is the cash back is almost instant and there’s no minimum to redeem
