Re: BOA 321 PC to Fidelity Amex Update: No Go

The other day I asked to PC my BOA 321 card to the Fidelity Amex via chat.  The rep couldn't find any info on the Fidelity card and had me provide a link to the product page.  He did end up submitting the request and said it could take 2 to 3 weeks to process.  After the chat session, I called in to see if someone could do it over the phone--I don't like the idea of waiting three weeks to find out whether or not something was done right.  After an hour of trying to find info on the Fidelity card, the FIA rep said conversion to a Fidelity product was not possible as they are a separate division.  This seems to be in line with what I read on the forums after the call.

So, today I started another chat session and asked to have my request cancelled as I figured they would just screw something up with my account.  The rep said they could not cancel the request as it had already been submitted and accepted.  I voiced my doubts about the last rep's confusion, and she said everything looked good in the system and the system accepted the request.  I guess I'll have to wait 2-3 weeks to see if I get a nasty green Amex in the mail.  o.O

Re: BOA 321 PC to Fidelity Amex...In Process?

Yeah, I have no idea what's going to happen.  The phone rep kept asking me if I wanted to PC to a Merrill card, and I kept having to explain to her that it was a Fidelity Amex.  She did apologize and said this was a very uncommon request and that she was still learning.  When she did get the info she sounded certain that the PC was not possible.  The second chat rep did say she was not able to see what product the PC request was submitted for, only that it was successful.  For all I know the request will be cancelled or I'll get a Merrill card in the mail.  At this point I feel like it's an FIA crapshoot.

Contact the EO if it doesn't work out. I PC'ed my HRC Cash Rewards Visa Sig to the Fidelity AmEx after talking with them.

Yeah I figured that would be the route I'd have to take if it doesn't work out.  I'll keep that in mind.  Also, as far as the HRC card, shortly after I apped for the Cash Rewards card, BOA started bombarding my mailbox with offers.  Cash Rewards, then HRC Cash Rewards, then Cash Rewards, then HRC Cash Rewards again.  This was around the same time Allstate started sending me HRC-cobranded marketing stuff.  I don't remember ever donating to HRC or anything, so it makes me wonder why I started getting the stuff.  It makes me feel like someone is out there...watching...always...so creepy.

I have donated to HRC before, but it was before I started any sort of relationship with BoA; I just cold apped for it. BoA doesn't send me anything nowadays, but Geico needs to cool their jets.

And if you need the EO contact info, feel free to PM me. I hope everything works out. Smiley Happy

Re: BOA 321 PC to Fidelity Amex...In Process?

Well, I've gotten two different answers concerning this situation.  Phone reps say the request is processing, but when I ask for more details they hang up.  Chat reps say there is no pending request and that my initial request is actually showing as being related to rewards programs.  I'm going to say my assumption that the initial rep didn't know what he was doing was correct.  I may contact the EO, but I've been going back and forth between the Fidelity and the Travel Rewards card anyways, so who knows.  I'm considering taking on a co-op overseas during the summer and the TR card would make much more sense.  If anything changes I'll let you guys know.

Re: BOA 321 PC to Fidelity Amex...In Process?

Update:  I left BOA some feedback on Facebook about all the conflicting answers I've had about this request, the long hold times and the repeatedly getting hung up on.  They asked me to send them my number so they could contact me, but I didn't have the time.  They managed to track down my phone number anyways (the benefits of having a fairly unique name) and a specialist is on the case.  She has someone working on the request and will get back to me within 3 business days.  It seems the saga continues.

Any update to that saga?
