Re: Requesting a Discover CLI with 30% Utilization

They know your spending habits; if you have a good credit score you'll receive your CLI.

Re: Requesting a Discover CLI with 30% Utilization

The bottom line is that there are tons of pieces of data that go into CLI decisions.  There is no single piece of data that overshadows all others and no hard and fast universal rules as anyone that has a story stating X matters someone else has the same story saying that X doesn't matter.

Just reading through this thread people have said that utilization matters most, someone else said credit score, someone else said amount you pay above the minimum payment, etc.

All of these things matter, perhaps to different degrees depending on the creditor and your personal profile.

Regardless of how each individual factor matters, we can all agree that there are "better" or "worse" ways to represent each factor.  Lower utilization is "better" [than higher].  Higher credit score is "better."  The more you can pay above minimum payments is "better" etc.

The more factors that you can make "better" prior to requesting a CLI will generally result in a more favorable result.
