Points being dropped to 1 cent redemptions on airfare plus transfer partners that either aren't worthwhile or are available through other programs? Easy choice. I'm sticking with Amex, with Chase as a backup. The revamped Prestige gets a big fat yawn from me.

In my opinion, there is no chance that Citi will add AA as a transfer partner. People have been hoping for that since the inception of Thank You cards, but it has never happened.
Probably not which is why I hope they dont drop the 25% bonus on the premiere as well. This would essentially make the card worthless to me. The portal is the only way I plan on redeeming my points.
TPG is reporting that the 25% bonus is dropped starting in September 2019.
Sounds like they wanted to spot in between the AmEx Platinum and CSR, but they failed miserably. Why would anyone get this card if it’s an effective $250 fee?

Is this for the Premiere too or just the Prestige? If its the premiere too, I will certainly be closing or downgrading my card in August. I will also make sure I use up my SUB by then.

Good point, it's just been announced about the Prestige only. However, with Citi, I'd say it's just a matter of time...

Sounds like a AMEX Platinum Card with the extra dining category.

With a $495 AF it's somewhat reminiscent of Barclay's Black Card (f.k.a. Luxury Card).

With Amex you can enter Centurian Lounges and Delta Lounges plus they have Delta as a transfer partner.
4th night free twice is an Ok deal. I think probably better card than Platinum if your local airport isn't a Delta hub or has a Centurian Lounge. If you average $350 a night on your 4th nights that would save you $700. Plus you get the $250 travel credit. That is $950 without even using the card for purchase so net $455 in that scenario. Actually I would say this card is better than the Platinum or CSR for benefits you get if you use it correctly.
I will be passing on this one.
I think the "new and improved" Citi Prestige just put any attempt by AMEX to come out ahead of the competition to death! Funny thing is, the card is not even out on the market yet and the "polls" show the card's "momentum" rising and in the lead even before election day in January 2019! 5x on Airfare and Dinning (globally), plus 4th night free, priority pass, unrestricted $250 travel credit, travel protection, anticipated cell phone protection, the list just goes on and on, sounds like a winner!
