so annoying. But now I know how they roll![]()
I let them post a balance of $0.74 last month... and asked for a CLI 3 days before statement cut... was 3 days before 4th statement from last CLI.. approved 800.00 increase. now WM has 2k limit.. I have hat it 15 months, I am holding onto it to hope it converts to WM Discover... since I dont have a Discover card yet, hopefully that will let me get into discover withought having to do a HP this year...
Congrats to you! Hope it gets converted soon ![]()
This is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if a statement actually generates or not. If you want a cli, hit the luv button. If that doesn't work, call credit solutions. If you get declined, the letter will say something like "not enough time at current credit limit"--not "not enough statements generated." Statement generation doesn't matter. I have received multiple cli in the same day---and multiple in consecutive days. I have also been declined a huge amount of times....It's a SP, so who cares? My card is in its 14th month of existence, and started at $700. Now it is at 10k. In those 13 months I asked for about 35 cli. Some granted, and most denied.

Again, I am just going by what I've read multiple times in the forum. Cli can be requested after every 4th statement. So of course statements generating would be important to me. Your experience with cli from Walmart is news to me.
Well, my experience is normal. Reading other people's experiences with calling CS a lot, is why I did it. Every time I hit the luv button and was given a little luv, I immediately called CS and asked for more--which was granted every time. I think that when people say after 4th statement generates, they are using it instead of months to say that as a general rule, one can request a cli "at the close of your 4th billing cycle--regardless of the number of days since account opening."

I don't think the Walmart Discover is a true Discover card...it just uses the Discover network. GECRB is still the issuer AFAIK. Anyone correct me if I am mistaken.
@baller4life wrote:So I received a Walmart card last month and pif all charges because several on the board said that a statement would generate even with a $0 balance as long as there is activity during that month. Well I logged in today to make sure one did generate after closing on the 13th. NO STATEMENT. I called customer service and was informed that you must leave a balance in order for a statement to generate. Now I have lost a whole month on my quest of four statements so I could request a cli. Oh well, lesson learned. And hopefully my post saves someone else a wasted month.
I had the same issue when I first got the card...I was paying in full but not generating statements. I finally called in after 2 months with no statement and the next month a statement generated.
