Re: SO aggravated at USBank.

I wish US Bank would be more solid in their HP/SP decisions. Yes, any FI should be expected to do an HP, and I was one of those who got a SP CLI in the app. However, other big players like Chase (HP if you access their website) and AMEX (SP all day every day if you are in*) are consistent enough that it's much easier to deal with.

That sucks. Not sure how they operate. Seems like they do soft pull CLIs sometimes, I have seen it reported here. I locked my reports and attempted a CLI for my Cash+ at 7  mos. They tried to pull TU, sent me a letter via snail mail to unfreeze TU, which I did not do, and that ended in no CLI.

The card is well over a year old now, so i tried the same thing this morning, they tried to pull TU and I received a message stating their "underwriters are on it". I am sure the same thing will happen. So I am done attempting an SP CLI with them. I have an 823 TU, plenty of income, DTI <1%. I also have had a checking acct and a CC with them for over a year.

Some banks are so much easier to deal with in this respect. Amex comes to mind.

Not to beat a dead horse over the head, but I couldn't agree more with having your credit reports frozen if your going for CLIs because that guarantees no HP; whatever the issuer may say or try. I would feel as bad as OP having one HP let alone a double, yet I feel this wasn't mentioned enough in thread.

Good points. Until recently, all of my reports were frozen for that very reason. I didn't want any accidental HP's that were supposed to be SP's.

More than enough credit.

Re: SO aggravated at USBank.

Can't speak to OPs issue, pulling twice seems some kind of misunderstanding, but as far as HP, yeah.

I got into 2 year staring contest with them on my Cash+, trying CLI with reports locked and refusing to unlock when they asked. When I took a pull for an auto loan, I went ahead and let them do their HP. I got $9400 CLI out of it.

I do the same thing. For my recon with BofA, they tried pulling my TU even though they never told me they would, thankfully TU blocked it as I had a freeze on it.
