Safe to apply for AMEX?

AMEX has always been an unobtainable goal in my credit world. Over the past few years I have submitted an app about once a year as my credit improved, however they were never nice to me. Right now my credit score is higher than ever and I would really like to give it another shot. Please let me know what you guys think. Unfortunately I only have access to my TU score through Crap1 but I have 0 baddies on my reports so I'm sure they are close to this.

TU: 759

Oldest Credit Line: 8yrs

Credit Utilization: 21%

Total Accounts: 20

Inquires: 6 (Just got a mortgage in Oct, they pulled twice)

Available Credit: $30,036.00

Total Income: $45,000

Thanks guys!

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

Best thing to start with would be to spend the money and  pull scores.

Amex will pull EX and possibly EQ as well

What cards do you have now the limits and how long you've had?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

Pull your Experian Fico and just pay 20$ from this site and it will give us alot better idea of your chances.. Although if you have no baddies and what you mention on your OP you most likely would be approved, but nothing is guranteed in the credit world.

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

Assuming youe Experian Fico is 730+ also I would suspect you won't have a problem getting one.

I had a Amex TU pull as well but it has since fallen off. I believe it was for my BCE app

Thanks Closing99

Even more reason to pull all 3 and not count on a Cap1 FAKO score which we all know can be +/- 50-100 points difference

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

Just got Amex prg and EDP. They pulled only Experian. Go to CCT and pay 1 dollar for 7days trial. Get all three reports and scores.

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

Bear in mind I was approved for 2 Amex cards with scores roughly 670.

The lesson:  nobody can guarantee approval for you based on score,  but if you can use the card, and your profile supports it generally, then it is reasonable to apply.

FICO 08 scores listed and are stagnated until multiple derogatory items expire over the next two years.

Re: Safe to apply for AMEX?

What was the reason for being denied with your past applications? Have you addressed those issues? Your scores if accurate look good...but scores aren't everything. Good luck.
