Got a notice from Synchrony randomly by email stating that I had qualified for an upgrade from the sams club store card to the Sams club MasterCard. Surprised but I guess a nice thing!
ive had the card for about 2.5-3 years and put a little bit of spend on it at Sams and/or Walmart but I usually use other cards in the app or club because of SUBs or other multiplier offers and there's really not any benefits with the store card.
I've got the highest limit they offer so it turns in to a nice little revolver with the MasterCard and I think the most exciting benefit is the 5% cash back on gas anywhere, so I'll definitely take it.
It will be a new card number as it's a MC now, but I'm guessing (and hoping) that it won't show as a new account on my credit? Anybody have experience with that?
Congratulations on your Sam's Club product upgrade!
Congrats
Congrats on the Sam's Club MC upgrade @Bizambish. We don't see these very often 😊
Unfortunately, it will report as a new account. This is pretty standard for any V/MC SYNCB upgrades.

Not what I wanted to hear but thank you for the insight.
What is the max limit?
$10k?
Congrats on your upgrade!
Actually I just got the same offer I called synchrony and they told me the account will keep the same history because in past it would be new account, but she said the coded the MasterCard account the same date you opened the store card. I made sure because was notorious for this in the past.

Yes for the synchrony amazon and Sams club apparently 10k is the max

That's great news; I did not want them to just burn a new account slot for me.
