Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

I received a Score Watch alert today and thought it may be a few points jump in my EQ score since I have been paying down my revolving accounts..To my surprise my score jump 32 points because of my util. dropped a few points but more importantly I had 2 collections that fell off my EQ report.

With more pay down on my revolving balances maybe I can hit the 750 club soon!!!!

I did not think that there would be such a jump after 7 years.

Thanks to all for your help on these forums in the last 3 years that I have been here.

Re: Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

Congrats.  Just curious as to what your score was before the jump, and if those collections were the only 2 you had.

Re: Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

snowangel, yes those were the only 2 collections I had (both medical from 12/04).  My score as of yester day was 699.

I still can't believe a 32 point jump after 7 years considering that these things are suppose to drop off slowly over the 7 years......

WOW - I am impressed!!   You should be very happy!!   32 pts - incredible!   I am waiting to see if I will jump into the 700 club this month as I paid off 2 cc and paid down two others to below half last month!  Fingers crossed!!!!

Re: Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

My scores used to average high 600's. No negatives, just didn't realize how much utilization affects scores. Based on info from this forum, I paid everything down to less than 10% and scores jumped over 30 pts to mid 730's. Since that time I always pif. Sp the score jump is not surprising. Congrats

Re: Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

So, I know that paying off cc's helps and I heard if you cc's below half of the avail. balance, that should help too - am I wrong?  I wish I would have asked before I paid two down below half - I would have focused on one to get it even lower!

Re: Score Watch--32 point jump!!!!!

Best scores are with utilization between 1 and 9%. this will generate a higher score than a 0 balance.
