They pulled both Experian and Equifax for me. I was at 740 on Equifax and 670 on Experian (In process of cleaning up credit, hence the vast difference in the two scores). I was approved for $8K. Salary is about $130K annually.
This was also my first Visa Signature type card (above 5K).
Hope that helps.

Statistics from Credit Karma indicate the following information for cardholders (1706 sample size) successful in obtaining the Chase Sapphire Preferred card:
1. Average Credit Score: approx. 743 - 744
2. Percent of Cardholders in Credit Score Range Groups:
> 750 55%
701 - 750 31%
651 - 700 10%
601 - 650 3%
550 - 600 1%

680 or thereabouts.
I suspect if I had asked today at Chase I would've been pre-approved at a FICO of 670-680 for both '04 and '08 models, picked up a 5K business card on a pre-approval but admittedly I have been using Chase as my primary bank for the last nearly two years and at one point flirted with CPC minimum on deposit so that might have skewed things in my favor.
I was just approved two days ago, they pulled Equifax, score 704. I was approved for 12,500.
I was approved in October 2011 with a Fico of 680 at that time. Transunion was pulled for me. If you have an existing banking relationship with Chase at the time of applying, and are borderline, I've found that will help you plead your case via an analyst if initally denied. Best of luck if you decide to apply!
I was instantly approved for 5K and they pulled EQ which is currently 650 and 32 inquiries, 12 in the past 12 months. I did have 10K plus with them already though with positive payment history.

Helpful yes, but bad news for me! Haha. Honestly I don't know if I would trust CK stats, but as a very general guideline. They initially "recommended the Freedom" which subsequently led to a denial...
