Hi guys. What the heck is the secret to getting an approval from AMEX? Recently I've been approved for; Chase Slate, Chase Freedom, & Discover IT but I can't break through to AMEX for whatever reason. I guess I need to garden what I have for 6 months or so?
Capital One Quicksilver- $5,400 | Chase Freedom - $8,000 | Chase Freedom Unlimited- $13,000 | Chase Amazon -$5,000 | Priceline Visa -$10,000 | US Bank Cash+ - $18,200 | Fidelity Visa -$10,000 | Sallie Mae- $10,000 | DCU Platinum $12,000 | Discover IT - $10,000 | Amex EveryDay - $25,000 | Amex BlueCash Everyday- $9,800 | Citi DoubleCash - $18,000 | Sapphire Preferred- $13,000 | Freedom Unlimited- $7,000 | Blispay- $12,000 | Chase Sapphire Reserve- $18,000 | Consumers Credit Union Visa Sig Cash Rebate- $25,000
i've had just the opposite luck. Amex has been very good to me considering my initial approval score (EX 640). Discover won't touch me because of three paid charge off's from 2008. Oh well, I'm happy to be in the Amex family though.
6 months of gardening should do the trick
my in was a charge, the fabled zync card, i got it early rebuild my scores were prob between 620-650 when i was around 680 i got approved for the BCE the nice thing is the back dating.

Same here. Charge (PRG) was my foot back in the door with Amex. Delta and BCE both approved about 7 months from having a charger.
