I’ve been in the garden so long that I haven’t been in these parts in ages but I honestly thought that I had gone as far with my credit rebuilding as was reasonably possible. Once I got the green light from Discover and Citi (Double Cash), I figured the glory days were behind me. When I got an envelope from Macy’s, emblazoned with “Important Information Enclosed” on the front, I figured it would be a CL decrease or something adverse. Nope! Turns out I have finally broken through that AMEX ceiling that has eluded me almost from the start. I’m ecstatic and it serves as reasonable consolation that the world won’t end if I don’t get the Chase or British Airways cards that I have held up as the ultimate prize for so long. Heck, even now I can still remember how I nearly keeled over when Amazon gave me that first unsecured card with a whopping $200 CL. I am so grateful for all of the sage advice I got from reading all your posts.
I’m particularly happy that my account open date will remain the same with my new card. Didn’t happen with Wal-Mart or Sears.
So, if anyone is feeling discouraged and impatient with their current credit crop, just hold on. If I can claw back from the basement from where I started, anyone else can, too!
Thank you all!
