Should I apply?

I got turned down for the Bank of America Americard Better Balance card, I was wondering if I should try the cash back card for students instead? That should be an easy approval? no?

Re: Should I apply?

Did you get the denial letter? If so, what reasons were given? I'd recommend working on those instead of wasting another HP. How's your credit file look like? You might be able to recon with BofA.

Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Should I apply?

I got my first CC last July with a 500 credit limit, which is now up to 750. I also have an American Eagle, 900 cl and Kohls, 800 cl card. In May I applied for Discover It for students card and got a 2000 cl. I have 3 total inquiries on my report, I know that may seem like a lot but I really don't see why BofA would decline me, I use my cards frequently and I do not carry a balance. I pay off my cards each month.

And no, I haven't got my denial letter, how to recon with them?

Re: Should I apply?

Would you suggest that I try to do that? I don't want another hit on my credit for no reason.

And I assume this is my utility (from FICO)

Ratio of your revolving balances to your credit limits
9%

Re: Should I apply?

IMHO wait on the letter but I'll take a guess and say your file is to thin and are seeking credit to fast ...all cards are new

credit is a marathon not a sprint
