Re: Should I close my Zync with $500 limit

I've read some blog posts as well as some posts on here that PRG and Platinum can actually complement each other quite nicely, assuming a decent amount of travel and most if not all spending on the PRG! (Platinum just for the benefits... points earnings are meh)

Re: Should I close my Zync with $500 limit

If me I wouldn't keep both card since both have a high annual fee... They sent me preapproved upgrade from my prg to platinum card but the annual is kinda too high for me and I don't really use that benefit so I didn't take it,,

This combination makes sense for a certain type of spender.

If you travel extensively and are a heavy spender, then you'd use the PRG for airfare, gas and groceries. The Amex platinum would be used for the benefits such as lounge access. Often people with this kind of spenidng profile add the CSP for dining and/or SPG for non-bonus category spend.

For those who aren't heavy spenders and travellers, keeping both past the first year won't make much sense due to the high AFs.
