I moved to Europe in my junior year of high school (parents) and I just got back in late 2010.
Got my first CC with Cap 1 (securred $550 limit) in Feb 2011 and got their Platinnum in June 2011 ($750 limit and both with AF).
Since then, I have gotten:
Chase United $5k limit
Chase Sapphire Preferred $5k limit
Carecredit $4.2k limit (got lasik done, best thing i did
)
Rooms to go (td bank) $5.5k limit
Citibank Thank You $5.3k limit
AMEX Zync (backdated to 1998 when I was an AU)
AMEX BCE $1k limit (backdated to 1998 when I was an AU)
Amazon store card $1.4k limit
Bestbuy $1.3k limit
I know it's a lot, won't be getting anything else soon!
I don't know what my AAoA is yet, because I just recently got the 2 AMEX, so I'm sure the backdating will help a bit and they haven't been reported yet, so waiting on that.
Should I keep the two Cap 1 cards? I haven't used them in months now and they both have AF, or should I wait?
In my opinion I say once you have gotten better cards to weed out ones with AF..Remember even by doing that the C1 card will stay on your credit report for 10 years..You have some pretty great cards for someone so young..
I'm 25 now, was over there for a while (wish I wasn't lol).
So I should keep the Cap1 cards for a while longer?

Close Cap 1.... be sure to ask for a CLI on Amex 61 days after activating the card
Close them, but wait for a bit.
You already paid the AF on both, there's some benefit to just letting them mostly idle until 1/13 and 5/13 respectively before closing them; 7 and 11 extra months respectively reporting on your credit report which may have some benefits later FICO wise. Granted, it's probably small or even outright marginal, but since it doesn't cost you anything tangible, I'd do it.

I guess I could keep them until 1/13 and 5/13 and cancel them then.
Thanks for the valuable input everyone!

close cap1, they are to build on; they will be on your report for 10 years helping your age from time you close it. Have fun cutting them up, or whatever people do with them (I still have one in my wallet till I get my CSP!)
