Isn't that the truth? However, I am in the higher 700's so I am sure I got a good chance. However, it makes me a little nervous because I know AMEX is tricky at times; I mean, the pre-approved message shows now, so that is something at least right.
Do you know what credit report they will pull? That way, I can give a better estimate of my score.

I understand that it's my decision; however, discussing this in greater detail has helped me understand it better, which is needed for bigger decisions like this.
If I move most of it, once approved, would it still be a good idea to downgrade it to a Blue, or would it be better to move most of it and have it as a closed card? ( the current gold )

They will use your Experian FICO 8 score. In most (not all) cases, existing Amex cardholders do not even receive a hard inquiry when applying for additional Amex products. Again, I would be shocked if you were declined but even if it resulted in a decline you likely wouldn't even have an inquiry to show for it. Unless you've opened up a lot of cards recently I really can't see an approval not happening.
It's really up to you on whether to downgrade or close. Blue won't exactly be useful, but you can't even get the small Welcome Offer on that card if you have, or have recently had, any Amex Delta card anyway.

I just checked my FICO 8 score. It's around 740. Knowing this is around the mark mentioned; however, I know that @Anonymous mentioned around 750. Since I am not at 750 yet, part of me wants to wait? ( to further my chances at the same time, I don't want to miss this amazing offer)

The three approvals with threads here so far this month for the card are 692, another 692, and 734. Your score is fine.
It's rare for HPs to happen for existing cardholders, but it does happen from time to time hence the disclaimer. My last HP from Amex was 19 years ago. I have added 5 cards in the past 4 years with no HP.

As far as If I am talking my self out of it
I would prefer not to have it hit 2 of my 3 reports; that is the part that is having me hold back a little bit.
However, as @K-in-Boston states, no pulls in 4 years.

I understand that it can happen. I mean, I am pretty good on inquires, so I guess If I got one, it would not be the end of the world.

Another question I have: Is there anything else I should do before applying? I mean score is pretty solid, and the profile is too based on what is shared. I am just trying to think If I am missing anything?
