I think its safe to say its YMMV for bks. Perhaps theres also other parts of individuals reports that determine acceptance post bk.

My ch 7 Bk was discharged 1/29/2013 (yep this year) and I got a pre-approved letter from Walmart the end of July. I thought it was a fluke but applied online anyway .... instant approval for $600. I included multiple GEMB cards in my bankruptcy too.

My bankruptcy was discharged in February 2012 and I waited one year before applying for a Walmart card. I applied earlier this year for a Walmart card and was approved for $300.00. My credit line was increased to $900.00 after a few months. I always pay in full now. I do like FICO score.

I guess a GE approval varies app to app.
