Something not adding up.....

A few ago I tried the Cap One  online cli and was declined, whatever. I recieved the letter stating why and it just stated this account is not eligible. The funny thing is is that they stated my equifax score is 705, not 700 where I've been stuck at for the last 3 mos. And I just checked my score here last week.

From 566 in 8/2012 to..

EQ 704 /TU 690 / EX 730

Discover IT 6000, Amex BCE 10000, FNBO Amex 3500, Cap 1 platinum 2000, Walmart Discover 5000, Orchard Bank platinum 3000, Best Buy 5000, Merrick Bank 1600, Target Visa 700

Re: Something not adding up.....

The difference between 700 and 705 is tiny and so doesn't really matter.   It's possible that Cap One is using one of the FICO credit card enhanced scores, which is not quite the same as the one you get here, or a different generation of FICO, or a non-FICO score.  Did they give the range of the score?

Re: Something not adding up.....

Also check the date of the report Cap 1 used. On my last decline for a CLI they used a report from June 25 even though the request was for 7/28. In March they used a January report. That might be the reason for the 5 point difference.

No apps until 8/2014
March 2013 Starting FICO Score: EQ: 584 TU: 564 EX: ??
August 2013 Current FICO Scores: EQ:664 EX:684 Walmart TU: 666

Re: Something not adding up.....

you need to just contact EO... they can product change the card to the new Quick Silver or Venture perhaps if you like that better and then get you a CLI.

Re: Something not adding up.....

It saying the account is not eligible could mean that they are not giving CLI on your type of account right now I belive

+1

If the account is less than 6 mos old and/or was an OB could be other reasons why its not considered 'eligible'

The EO can change the type so it is eligible though!

Re: Something not adding up.....

Just wanna chime in and say it can't be your credit score because I got an increase with a score around 630.

Re: Something not adding up.....

As longtime said, most likely enhanced bankcard FICO scoring model used. When i got my approval letter from BOA last week, they listed my score as 813 from TU, and i pulled it at 798, so small difference in scoring model. Usually works out to our advantage though with the difference.
