Re: Sony Visa card (capital one) transitioning to Comenity in November

I also was surprised to get the letter today for my Sony card.  Back in June, I fell out of favor with Cap 1 for an NSF payment.  I had 2 CAP1 cards plus the Sony card... all with limits of about 2k.

Cap1 shut down my 2 cap1 cards but somehow the Sony stayed open.  They had told me they would probably be closing that as well but never did...  I wonder if it is because the Comenity acquisition was already in the works.

Ironically, I've been paying off all my SCT comenity cards and closing them.  I only have one left.

i hope Comenity doesn't go on one of their infamous AA sprees after the transition and cull folks that they deem to be less desirable.  My sense is that they have higher credit standards for their Visa cards than Cap1 so there may be lots of us that Cap1 approved that Comenity wouldn't have approved.

Hate this, I was very interested in the PS card to make it my main entertainment card and was willing to take the 3x HP but do not want to do business with Comenity. Looks like I will be looking into the Savor card for entertainment instead.

They still don't even have the website up and running. Gonna be a total rush job from the looks of it.

Re: Sony Visa card (capital one) transitioning to Comenity in November

Nope, definitely not working. What a total P.I.T.A.

This is news to me, didnt realize it was happening until I received the new card, and even then I thought at first it was just a new Cap1 card.

I signed into my Cap1 account and saw the Sony card was gone, however my other account was still present (both in good standing).

SO I attempt to activate this P.O.S. and after several attempts it claims to be activated, mentions my real first name and welcomes me, prompting me to "Sign up for account access", but after several different attempts at setting up my account it keeps saying "Please meet the password requirements" despite my having done so, and trying it on 2 different computers and 3 browsers. (yes I am positive the password meets the requirements). Total BS.

I can not stand when companies do this. I signed up with Cap1 in the first place because of my previous experiences with them over the years. Ive never even heard of Comenity. Last time I had something like this happen my Flagstar mortgage was sold to GreenTree, and then to Ditech and its been nothing but a MESS since then. To this date my mortgage is still not being reported on my credit. SMFH.

ughhhh

at least it won't be a triple pull to sign up now! i hope they make it more rewarding for game-buying because the old cards really weren't.
