Starwood Luxury $300 question

My history with my personal Starwood Amex:

Feb 2017: Approved

Mar 2018: $95 AF posted

Sept 2018: Upgraded to Luxury

Nov 2018: Partial AF refund of $31.66

Nov 2018: Renewal Membership Fee of $150 (not $450)

Using this information, can anyone tell me:

1. Do I currently have a $300 credit?

2. If yes, when does it expire?

3. If no, when will the credit become active?

I know I could contact customer service, but I'm not sure they'd give me the right answer.

Re: Starwood Luxury $300 question

My approval and AF were a month later than yours.  My upgrade was a month earlier than yours.

1.) Yes.

2.) On your renewal date, which is the same as the original SPG card date.

3.) N/A

My $300 credit posted immediately after a DC stay right after I got the card.

Re: Starwood Luxury $300 question

1 Yes the $300 Credit is available right now. We used my upgraded SPG Lux within two weeks after the upgrade, got the $170 or so credited, and all indications are the rest is available.

2 I don’t know whether the original anniversary of the SPG applies, or if that got reset ( later date ) in the upgrade.

A similar situation with my upgrade to Hilton Aspire. Within two months we stayed at a qualified resort, and got the full $250 resort credit.

For both SPG and Hilton upgrades I also got similarly pleasing prorations in the AF change over.

Edit to add, I also have the Hilton Weekend Night award and the SPG 35,000 point night award to use, so they keep / upgrade those benefits on the PC.  Expect the 50k Marriott night next time around.

Re: Starwood Luxury $300 question

Okay, that makes sense.

Somehow I got to thinking the $150 represented a $450 AF less the $300 hotel credit. Of course, it was 4 months of a $450 AF which was then offset by 4 months of the $95 AF that had been refunded to me. So they are keeping the original card anniversary date.

Thanks!

Yes K.  The only way I would know if I was eligible for any credit is by looking online and see it and say to myself, I guess I was and it works.  I have to have a reminder on my phone for my monthly shake shack or Cheesecake Factory stop.  Oh crap and saks too.
